The other Arupadiveedus are located at Pazhamudircholai (10 km north of Madurai), Tirupparamkunram (10 km south of Madurai), Thiruchendur (100 km south-west of Madurai), Swamimalai (150 km east of Madurai) and Thiruthani Murugan Temple (50 km from Chennai). It is said that a divine siddhar named Boghar created the idol of Dhandayuthapaani using navapashanam, an amalgam made from 9 poisons which is said to possess curative powers for many ailments of the human body, according to Siddha medicine. Murugan is the parihara for all Rahu doshas.
