The ancient temple of Sri Sharada, the presiding deity of Sringeri has a glorious history that begins with the setting up of the Dakshinamnaya Peetham by Sri Shankara Bhagavatpada.
The Coimbatore branch of the Shringeri Sharada Peetham is located on Race Course Road. This beautiful temple has shrines for Goddess Sharadambal, Lord Ganesha, Lord Murugan and also for Shri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada.
There is also a Vedapathashala where children study the Vedas. Special pujas are held during the Navaratri festival and on all days auspicious for the worship of the Goddess - Tuesdays, Fridays and on Moola nakshatra which is sacred to Goddess Saraswathi
